Technology- Software Consulting

3/26/2018

Typical Situation: Our client’s systems that are currently in place do not keep track of inventory or improve operations. Our client has outdated technologies that complicate processes and prevent growth. They often lack standard business process and never certain of the best way to handle.  They may also struggle with too many manual processes, find it hard to complete upgrades, or have difficulty having their systems talk to each other.

When you hear a business owner say:
·         “I need help in figuring out how to make software work for my company”
·         “Our software is not meeting our needs”
·         “Why is our staff always doing routine tasks in different ways?”
·          “We access our systems remotely.”
·          “We are thinking of getting a new system. Should we? Shouldn’t we?”

Technology Software Consultants help manufacturers and distributors implement application technology that makes their businesses run better.  They can help clients solve business problems by using systems that are currently in place or help them to find the appropriate software and vendors to improve operations. They will work with ERP systems, Warehouse Management systems, bar code scanning technology and other supply chain technologies.

How they Work Consultants utilize business analysis skills, sound project management methodology, and common sense to implement systems.  They will work with and manage vendors to control the project and ensure that projects are on time and on budget.  They also train employees to ensure that they understand what systems are supposed to do as well how to use new technology.

Banking- Credit Card Processing

3/19/2018

Typical Situation: Our client’s Card processing fees have increase over the years. They may have outstanding invoices that would be paid quicker if they took credit cards.

When you hear a business owner say:
  • “I don’t understand the charges from my current credit card processing company.”
  • “It is taking too long for me to receive payment on my invoices.”
  • “I have been receiving chargebacks because I am not EMV compliant and my equipment does not take chip cards.”
  • “I want to upgrade my credit card processing equipment but I’m not sure what is the best fit.”
  • “I am opening a new business and I need to accept credit card payments.”

Merchant Services assist businesses with taking secure electronic payments (credit cards, checks, online payments). They find ways to streamline operations, reduce cost, improve cash flow, and provide excellent reporting. There are a variety of solutions including online payments, payment terminals, invoicing software, and POS systems.

How they Work They will ask questions about how a business operates currently and struggles they may be having with expenses, cash flow, reporting, marketing, customer loyalty, etc. They then take these findings to customize a tailored recommendation for the business. All new accounts are checked for accuracy, assisted with installation and training, and receive 24/7 support.

Eliminating Process Defects

3/12/2018

What is a “Typical Situation” people are in when they realize they need your help?
Manufacturers need to make more and would think “I need more capital, workers, or overtime to make this amount of product.” Or “We have outgrown our space, but it would disrupt our business to move.”

What is something someone might say that would lead me to think of you?
  • “It takes 6 months or more to get new people up to speed.”
  • “We have constant turnover and can’t keep people.”
  • “we lose customers when we ship defects.”

What (Specifically) do they do?

Show manufacturers how to improve their manufacturing methodology in a permanent way. Benefits they receive is higher productivity, higher quality, less scrap, lower cost, lower labor as a percentage of total costs, less warranty, fewer customer complaints.

How do they do it?
By observing the process and talking with the leaders and people who work there, and comparing these processes to processes utilized by world class manufacturers. Utilizing best practices cuts through the experimentation and waste which occurs with “homemade” trial and error methods of improvement.
